Maila Kirspuu Appointed as the New Country Manager of OP Corporate Bank Estonia
Starting from 1 January, OP Corporate Bank’s Estonian branch will have a new leader – Maila Kirspuu, currently Head of Baltic Cash Management, will take over the Country Manager responsibilities from Hannes Kaadu.

Kaadu informed the company of his decision to step down already in April, as he wishes to devote more time to his family. By mutual agreement, he will continue in his current role until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.
The Board of Directors selected the new leader internally, praising Kirspuu’s deep expertise in corporate banking and her strong customer focus.
“It is truly great that our new Country Manager comes from within our own organisation. Internal succession ensures a smooth transition, deeper understanding of the local market and customer relationships, and strong strategic continuity. Kirspuu knows both the Estonian and Baltic teams, our strengths and challenges, which will allow her to lead decisively and confidently from day one. This continuity sends a clear signal to our clients and partners that OP remains on a stable and reliable course,” said Matias Huhtala, Head of Baltic Banking.
Kirspuu has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector. She has worked at Swedbank and DNB in Estonia, and since 2020 has been leading the Treasury unit for OP in the Baltics.
“I am truly honoured and excited to continue working with our talented team in a new capacity. Over the past few years, OP Corporate Bank Estonian branch has grown into a strong and reliable partner for local companies, and my goal is to maintain this momentum and further enhance the customer experience – not only digitally, but also through personal and meaningful customer interactions. We want to be a partner who thinks along with our clients and supports the growth of Estonian businesses and the economy,” said Kirspuu.
Kaadu has led OP Corporate Bank Estonia for more than 10 years. During this time, the bank has grown into a strong and trusted player in the corporate banking market for large Estonian companies. The bank’s portfolio has increased fivefold over the past decade, and OP Estonia now holds a significant market share among the three major corporate banks in the country.
“The past nearly 11 years at OP Estonia have been truly impactful. Together with our strong team, we have managed to build something lasting and valuable – something far greater than ourselves. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have led this team, but I feel that now is the right moment to pass the baton. I am genuinely pleased that it will be handed over to Maila Kirspuu,” Kaadu commented.
